rollover container done by Lin-Mar

Last Sunday, State PD called us for a rollover semi. The truck was driving inbound on the Kennedy expressway (90/94) near Hubbard�s cave when he hit the overpass. The container was on a high flatbed trailer. When it hit the overpass, it damaged the bridge, pulled the container off the flatbed, ripped the roof open and rolled the container over.

 

The best part was the next morning. The news chopper took some great pictures of the scene. The positions of the wreckers were perfect and our trailer was a giant billboard. Perfect. These are from CBS 2 Chicago.







when IDOT arrived they had a big mess of debries to clean out of the lanes.

the truck was loaded with boxes of Victoria Secret bags.

IDOT decided to try and upright the container because they were concerned that if they dragged it on its side with the load hanging out that it would create a bigger mess all over the road.

when this was unsuccessfull, IDOT had their fingers crossed and dragged the container, on its side, to the next exit they could make it over to- Washington.









it made it without losing much more of the load. IDOT maintenence brought out end loaders and dumps to pick up the debries on the roadway.
