2 major accidents in chicagoland

what a day! well there were 2 accidents doady involving a car stuck under a semi. one was on the tristate tollway (i294) at the thorton quarry (mm1.5) and the other was on I90 by barington rd (mm16). these pics are from our friends at CBS 2 Chicago- WBBM. check out the full story and video at : http://cbs2chicago.com/topstories/local_story_124093055.html

this is a prime example of how a wrecker could have been used to save lives! in this case they would have saved valuable time by having a heavy duty wrecker lift the rear of the trailer and another towtruck (or run another line from the hd to a snatchblock) and pull the car out. as it turnes out the wreck was not as life threatoning as it apperars. the fire department used airbags to lift the trailer and used one of there rescue fire trucks equiped with a winch to pull the car out.
