fatal rollover semi at lagrange rd and I55

on the way to the Tow show on saterday, i heard the call out for a rollover semi on the ramp from I55 to n/b lagrange rd. when i arrived, this is what i saw.

the cops would not let me sit at the top of the overpass, so i had to relocate to a trailerpark behind the ramp. as you can see, the container trailer was disconected from the front latches and the cab rolled onto the end of the gaurd rail, crushing the cab and the driver.

District Towing got the call and responded with their new rotator.

they pulled the tractor away from the gaurd rail so the fire department could extricate the body.

district disconected the container from the rear latches on the trailer chassie. the uprighed the tractor and the chassie.

that cab is destroyed and it looks new. district did a good job. 2 small criticizms:

1) when they initialy started to pull to upright it, the cab slid and this was because the pull was not low enuff.

and

2) no safety vests or gear (hard hats, glasses, ect...
