wrecks

i found these at: http://www.florenceco.org/ems/fcemsphotos2.html

August 2004 Severe intrusion into
the passenger door reaches the
driver of the car, resulting in a
fatality.

As you can see, if there had been
others in the vehicle, they would
not have had anywhere to go
either. FCEMS Medic 1, Assistant Director,
Shift Supervisor, Windy Hill Fire Department

August 2001 This wreck involved
a school bus and a van. The van
received just enough damage that
the passengers could not get out.
The extrication was on a slope,
with slick weeds, which made it
difficult to maintain footing. No
children on the bus were injured.

September 2003 This vehicle went
out of control when the elderly
driver had some type of episode.
He was trapped by the dash and
steering wheel. The elevated
position complicated the extrication
There were no occupants in the
apartment at the time.

The driver is at the bottom of
the picture, below the man standing
on the guardrail

This truck skidded on wet
pavement, and turned over on top
of this bridge, on top of the driver

The rest of the story. He was hit
by a tractor trailer that had been
hit by a train. He missed the train

But the trailer section did not.
This is the very front of the trailer
that was pulled completely off
of the truck bed

March 2004 The driver of this
car is lucky. But his luck is even
better than this picture suggests.

Somehow a passenger came out
of this truck during the accident.
He was the only survivor

There was a lot of diesel fuel that
ran off, and fire department had
to put down dirt dikes until it
could be contained. No one was
injured, though there was a lot
of potential for it.

October 2000 This tractor trailer
was carrying a bin full of sand.
On a curve the truck went out of
control and rolled, throwing the
driver out the rear window.

August 2001 As you can see, this
is a severe accident. The car went
partially under the tractor trailer
during the wreck, and then spun
as it impacted under the trailer.

But, here is the rest of the story.
On the other side of the trailer there
was also a van, that was crushed
under the trailer and up against the
guardrail. Severe injuries in both
of the vehicles, this one requiring
extensive extrication
