ambulance crash

On September 15, 2005, a Sonoma Life Support BLS ambulance was transferring a 70-year-old woman back to her mobile home when a small SUV pulled out in front of them. The ambulance hit the SUV and spun it around, trapping a 25-year-old woman.



The ambulance left the roadway and went down an embankment and struck a tree headon. The patient was thrown forward and pinned. The patient was killed instanly. The driver and the EMT along with the driver of the SUV were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.



Santa Rosa Fire Department sent Engine 5 (first due), and Medic Engine 2, along with Truck 1.
