Car rolled into water

on friday, a car that was parked neer the Burnum Harbor Boat Docks, somehow came unparked and rolled into the water.

It is estimated that the total water depth was 8-10 feet deep. When an accident happens in the city, the police have limited options. They can call the department of streets and sanitation, call E+R, their contracted company (they will take a long time and they use them mostly for impounds only) or they can wait for a privet contractor- this includes scammers and legit companies the customer calls. In this case- CPD called streets and sanitation. They brought out their heavy and the operators are not fulltime tow operators, nor are they trained by anyone. They have limited experience. As you can see by how dark it got (this happened at about 4pm) they took their time, so much so, they discussed for an hour how they wanted the car hooked up. I assume they were so far away from the water because they intended to set the car down behind their truck.

When the car went in the water, it steeled to the bottom on its wheels and there was no body damage. According to the owner, the car had just received a new motor, trans, and paint job. It also was pimped out. It was an 80s olds. When the car was being pulled out, because of the way it was hooked, the car spun around and the roof of the car slammed against the water wall several times.

The truck could not lift it any higher, so they drove the wrecker forward and the car with it. The owner was fuming and pacing (thats what you get for being too cheep to call a trained operator) what ever was salvageable b4 the recovery, was destroyed by the recovery. Except the $2000 rims.

the owner is the black guy with his hands on his head in the background.

this is the owners boat- ummmmm.
