huge wreck on the Dan Ryan

on 8/1/06 2 semis tangled it up.

The tractor trailer was exiting the express lanes into the far left lane, about 100 feet ahead of the exit, in the far right lanes, they exit to I 290. the TT driver tried to move over 3 live lanes and make the ramp, she got nailed by a dump truck. She was killed. The dump truck swerved to the right, hit the wall, and rolled. We (LinMar)  got the tows, but IDOT did the recovery.

they had pulled the tractor and the dump back together, but it slid back out when they were doing the recovery.



so... they used an end loader to lift a chain and pull the truck away from the wall.



























they had to lift the rear axel off the attinuator wire rope, so they used the loader.
