The International Towing & Recovery Museum
I had the opportunity to go to the International Towing and Recovery Hall of Fame and Museum during the tow show. My expectations were very low, in fact I figured I would be in and out of there in an hour. I dont like old tow trucks and thats what I figured was the main attraction, boy was I wrong. I ended up spending almost 4 hour hours in there and I only left because I needed to go to class. This was the coolest place! Yea there were some older tow trucks there, but thats really a small portion everything there. There are more model / toy tow trucks there than I ever dreamed were made. Walls and walls of pictures. Antiques and towing collectables. The new / future wall of the fallen was something to behold. Oh, and the library- you could spend months in there and not read everything. I took over 150 pictures of the ITRHFM and I had a tough time cutting it down to 75. if you ever have a chance to go to the museum, take it, it is awesome. Literally, you could spend a solid week in there and not see everything.
These pics were taken at the wall of the fallen, the day before the unveiling. I had to leave the next morning and could not stay for the unveiling. This memorial will be a great tribute to the fallen, it is long over due. The names will be added next year
14 cases of only models / tow wreckers on just this one wall!
The Hall of Fame
The Library, every issue of Tow Times and American Towman, tons of other publications. manuals, videos, training aids, and so much more
I have never heard of many of these magizines
I thought this was helarious! if only they knew how wrong they were.
