heavy duty vs an ambo- ambo rolled

on Friday night, a heavy duty wrecker was involved in an accident with a Chicago fire department ambulance. the heavy was traveling s/b on central ave and crossing 63 rd St when it struck the ambo. the ambo was responding to an incident at the time with their light and sirens on. they did not have any patients on board at the time. after the ambo rolled, the 2 paramedics had to be cut out of the cab. no one was seriously hurt.

i blocked out the name of the wrecker and for the record:  it was NOT O'HARE towing. this accident really could have happened to anyone. this happened at an intersection next to the airport next to the landing runway, in the short time i was there taking pics, when a plane came in for a landing, it drowned out every other sound. also, the ambo came from  a blind direction, no way the wrecker could have seen it. also, whatever siren was audible would have been bouncing off buildings- very confusing. i do not fault the driver of the wrecker.

i think the ambo hit the heavy as it was being uprighted. the heavy could not be moved.

Recoveries really aut to be left up to the trained profesionals

the war protest

this

past weekend, there was a war protest in the city. i went to take pictures. i want to make the following statement:

I voted for Bush, and although i no longer completely agree or like with this administration, i do support it and i think they are better than what Kerry would have done. Furthermore, i 100% think we needed to go to war and get rid of Sadam Hussain, i think we screwed up by not having a proper exit strategy in place. I do not think the war is to the point of protesting the war. i support war, our troops, and the president.

I went to this protest because these protests have a tendency to bring out the nut jobs and that makes for great pics. this protest was no exception. there was a pre-march protest rally at a Chicago park. many people gathered to listen to speakers and pass out anti-American propaganda. many speakers spoke in foreign languages and i had no clue what was said. many people protested topics other than the war. most of the people at the rally were the type of people that would complain even if we were not at war. these goofs really should be sent to Cuba and see how they like it- see if Castro invites them to dinner.

After the rally, close to 10,000 people joined for a march down Michigan ave downtown. these were mostly average people that were not nut jobs, just apposed to the war. the protest was peaceful- this time. the police were out in force and guided the marchers in the proper direction. they were very impressive.

I want to say that although i 100% support everyone's right to free speech and protest, i am opposed and pissed off about these big protests because they waste so much of our tax dollars in security, police, maintenance, cleaning, ect. I propose that each marcher pays an admission charge- that will keep them home and the government won't waste my overtaxed tax dollars. STOP SPENDING MY TAX MONEY ON STUPID STUFF!!!!!!!!!!!!
