TOWER SERIOUSLY HURT
Earlier in the month, Paul Fries Sr of Fries Towing was seriously hurt when he was preparing to tow a truck. The unconfirmed report is that he was hurt while disconnecting the drive shaft. He suffered severe head trauma. I spoke to Paul Fries Jr and he said his father is doing much better and is home now from the hospital. I can speak from personal experience when I say that Paul Sr is one of the nicest guys in this industry. He has a super nice operation and I am proud to call him a friend. I am going to keep him in my prayers and I ask that all of you do also. I will continue to update his progress as it is available.

Maurer Services is now open for business
Yes, this is me. I have finally started to take the first steps to open my own business. I am having a business phone installed in my apartment tomorrow. As of know- the # will be 773-631-6200. I have spoken to several companies about invoices and business cards. I already have an account with 1 major trucking company. Initially I will offer only light, med, and heavy duty road service and minor repairs. I will sublet all my towing to outside companies. When I have enough business to sustain a Wrecker, than I will purchase a large med duty that can handle light and heavy. I will continue to work for the Tollway for now and I do not see that ending any time soon. During my work hours, I will sublet all my work to outside firms. The initial plan as of now is to set up some advertising now, before the mid November ( that is the deadline to advertise in a major breakdown book before it is published for the new year) As of know I am planning to attend the Tow Show in Baltimore and at that time I will expand into SOME motor clubs- I cant stand the thought of doing AAA- it is just a repulsing thought. I will see what some motor clubs have to offer- I know some will pay your rates and some that dont, will pay some what decent. So we will see then. I plan on also having an insurance carrier by then. I will start now by throwing out some nets and seeing what I can real in. I dont need much in the way of tools, I have most of what I need. I will work on forming alliances with some towing companies and we will talk details of how the mutual aid will work. I will also be thinking about an 800 # - I cant decide on that yet. I will be bigger than Ernies and OHare one day but its a matter of time.

Lin Mar towed a bus for United Airlines and they let us into the restricted area to drop it into their hanger, or so I was told- I'm thinking we are going to tow this bus into the same hanger as the planes and we were going to have the wrecker next to a 747. NO. they call their repair facility a hanger also. But it was cool, I got a look at some of their tow trucks and a look at their repair facility- pretty cool!

NEW RULES AND OPPERTUNITYS!!!!
when i make these standings, it is based on things that i have confirmed - to a cirtin extent. for example, if my guys at shadow traffic report a r/o at I294 and Irving park rd- the tollway uses Ernies there and they will not allow anyone else to do a recovery in their area- there for that would cound for ernie. I am missing a bunch and i know some companies south of here are getting jipped, so i want to make some changes.
any company that does a recovery, please call me at 773-507-7493 or Nextel me at 109*203309*1 or even e-mail me at towrecovery@aol.com ( this is my main e-mail) if you e-mail me at 7735077493@messaging.nextel.com (this will e-mail my cell phone and I will receive it immediately!) heck- text message my phone. i will try and come and take pictures ar at the very least, attempt to confirm it and give credit.
OR
if they take pictures and e-mail details and the pics to me, I will try and confirm it and post the pics.
you can e-mail me at towrecovery@aol.com
the recovery must involve a heavy duty and it must be at a location that can be found on my Chicagland 6 county map book
any questions please contact me
