the mixer recovery
in this demo, they had a cement mixer loaded with thousands of pounds of crushed cement. i think they said it was around 66,000 lbs. they locked up all the brakes and had a bar holding the brake pedel down.

the point of this demo from the begining was to show how much of a difference it makes to run snatch blocks and double up on lines- remember the golden rule of winching: lines to the load.

1 did not work so they 2 parted the line

3 parts- NOTE: the strap hanging on the line- it is there to help controle the line should it sudonly lose pressure (snap) the weight of the strap would help drop the line to the ground - if only for a second or two- instead of the violent reaction should it snap.

then they added a line to the mix off the tail board (drag winch)

2 parted that- 5 lines to the load

he had to ajust the block of wood he was standing on because it pulled the truck away
